FLUIDITY
THRESHOLD _ 2020
Fluidity Threshold, seeks to explore, through pictorial constructions, the abstractions of human interactions fabrics and its depths in times of liquid relationships. In a fluid form, the movements and questions related to being flow, overflow, and flooding. Fluidity responds to the quality of liquids and gases that keep their movement constantly changing, in the composition of the series, this fluidity is represented by the threshold where rests the simplified / significant shape of a boat. The structure of the boat, as a pictorial signifier, leads to correspondence of the nodes of relationships in liquid times, as treated by Zygmunt Bauman. Centered on the idea of the signifier that lies between two fluids (air and water), the boat, its structure and its shadow (phantom), emerge in the predominance of the horizontal lines, referencing a contemplative state. The colors, in warm and algid variations, also lead to an intentionality in the construction of the image: acclimatization and absorption. The aesthetic choice of purist forms brings as visual language some principles and survivals of modern art, particularly the concrete structure, proposing in this act, a new meaning for the use of systematized structures and an expansion of contemporary discussions. This work had the accompaniment and artistic guidance of the curator and art historian Dra. Francine Goudel.
